Finding your hair and makeup squad is a tough job. I mean, these pictures will only be around until the rest of forever! And after all, we want to be the most stunning, glowing, radiant person in the room, am I right? So, here are a few helpful tip to find your beauty soulmates!
Ask someone! Ask your friend, co-workers, nail technician, distant Facebook acquaintance. Referrals are always the best way to find any service provider!
Ask Your Other Vendors
Vendors all know other wedding professionals in the industry and we all know who we love to work with. This is also great for people who who don't live/know anyone in the area.
Use those hashtags! (They do have a purpose.) I can't tell you how many times I have found other wedding professionals that I now idolize because of Instagram and hash tagging! Pick a hashtag like #coloradoweddinghair and check out the pictures, sift through profiles, and if you don't find suitable vendor, perhaps you got some great hair and makeup ideas.
Yelp and Google
I save this for last because it should be your last resort. I know it's so much easier to just look it up on your phone or iPad, but there are so many people to choose from and the bigger companies/salons pay for their ads to boost their traffic. Long story short, your top searches won't always result in the best team for the job, but the ones with more money. However, if this is your last resort, I like to use google because they don't filter out their reviews, but for you hardcore Yelpers, go for it.
Reminder: Not every hairstylist and makeup artist at a salon or store specializes in weddings. As a matter of fact, I know so many beauty professionals that are scared of them or flat out refuse to do them. You might think, well then why would those people agree to doing something as important as someone's wedding hair and makeup? It's simple, It's a paycheck. So be careful!
